Random Thursday Afternoon Art

Blogging will be light for the next several days since I will be away from the computer until some time next week.  Hopefully, if you visit, you'll leave a comment to keep this place lively in my absence.  In the meanwhile, here is a painting, titled "Sunset in the Yosemite Valley," which was painted in 1868 by American painter Albert Bierstadt.  It now hangs in The Haggin Museum in Stockton, California:

Jheka, no! I need my daily Daily Blitz fix. The sad fact is that I can't usually think of anything witty or amusing to say... but I'm here every day- doesn't that count for something?

LOL!!

Thanks guys. No, I wasn't going to shut it down because no one commented (though, by all means, comment more). It's just that if I take the new job in D.C. I'm going to be very, very busy.

OK, off to go research D.C. apartments ...

I hear you might be moving to DC--- what shall we do to prepare for this monumental event? be prepared for hellish humidity, and enjoy that wonderful SF climate while you can...you will miss it.

Are you implying that we're not busy? LOL!

Don't worry, you don't have to post multiple times a day to have a blog, ya know. All you have to do is pop in and let us know what's going on from time to time. We'll be patient in between posts.

Oh, what a relief. I was thinkin' you might have gotten heat stroke from walkin' round in that suit.

Ugh ... my flight was delayed ... then I missed my connection in Atlanta ... then I ran (and ran, and ran) in the Atlanta airport to get on a flight to Oakland ... I made it but let's just say that after a 9 hour commute, that suit is bound for the cleaners.

Oh ... and the person that I asked to take care of the cats? She doesn't get to cat-sit any more ... ever again (but they're ok).

Justme63:

I've lived in DC and, seriously, complaining about DC weather is a bit silly ... yeah, it gets a bit hot and a bit cold now and again but the summers are milder than New York (where I grew up) or, say, Florida, and the winters are easier than New York and Cleveland and St. Petersburg Russia (all places I've lived). Besides, I hear that they have air conditioning.

Nothing to be sorry about. I didn't mean to come off sounding harsh and I apologize if I did.

"Ugh ... my flight was delayed ... then I missed my connection in Atlanta ... "

Aw, man, I'm sorry to hear that. We DID have time to get you the catfish and gator tail dinner at the decidedly downscale restaurant I was thinking of. How downscale, you ask? Clean blue jeans is definitely overdressed.

And hey, I did NOT get lost on the only way out of the airport. So there.

What happened with the cats? My husband shaved one of my cats when I was gone before, just left him with a Mohawk ridge of hair on the spine. He is definitely not a person to be left in charge of cats, either.

No, the noise did not bother the cat for I had previously convinced him that vacuuming his hair daily before it fell out was a Good Thing. So he would just lay there in sullen capitulation until I was finished vaccuming him.

Leaving the left coast? One less rational mind in S.F.

It's not quite a done deal but it's close. In any case, it's not as if they have a surplus of rationality where I'm (likely) going.
